The ROOM GENERAL GRIGORESCU

2016, color, sound, time 5 minutes 17 seconds (loop). The video records a game of amateur football on a field 75 meters deep inside a salt mine. The air makes it difficult to breathe (due to the tar polluted air) and it is beyond adaptable for the accelerated breathing caused by running. There is no obvious reason to choose playing in these harsh conditions, inside the salt mine, rather than on a regular football ground. Yet it seems like a future projection of us, searching for places beyond terrestrial to conduct our activities.

2016, video, colore, suono,  durata 5 minuti e 17 secondi (loop). Il video registra una partita di calcio amatoriale in un campo costruito a 75 metri di profondità dentro una miniera di sale. L’aria già pesante per camminare, (data dal catrame usato all’interno) sembra inadattabile alla respirazione accelerata provocata dallo sport. Non c’è nessun ovvio motivo per il quale  cegliere di cambiare le condizioni di un abituale terreno di calcio con quelle non adatte di una salina. Eppure sembra una visione del futuro dove cercheremmo altri spazi oltre il suolo terreno per svolgere le nostre attività.
